Mommy to Cole and Emma

My beautiful daughter Emma just turned 11 months a few days ago. She has a little bit of a cold and a runny nose. I gave her lunch and then a bath today, I took her out of the tub and she began crying because she loves the tub so much. As I was putting her diaper on she started to not breath and turn blue. She went limp and her eyes rolled back in her head. We had to call 911 and were extremely scared thinking she was dying. The amublance arrived quickly luckily and by the time they got there she had begun crying and turned pink again but was not opening her eyes. It was a 30 minute drive to the hospital and half way there, about 15 minutes into it she finally opened her eyes and sat up and appeared to be "with it" again. At the ER they diagnosed her as having a breath holding spell that caused a seziure. However they didn't run any tests and said to followup with our normal pediatrician tomorrow who may want to give her an EEG.

 

We are beside ourselves with worry. I know I won't sleep tonight as I am terrified she will do it again and die. Am I being too paranoid?

 

I have a hideous sore throat.

 

Emma and Cole had their pictures taken at sears on monday. These were Emma'a first professional pictures.Her baptism is next month but we got her picture taken in the gown now. The baptismal gown was worn by me and both my sisters when we were little as well.

I happen to think the pictures came out pretty well!









 

 So Emma's baptism is set for February 22nd. Problem is I don't know who her god parents are going to be yet.

 I bought Emma the cutest dress and sweater for Christmas. I can't wait to find a reason for her to wear them. I just LOVE carter's clothing for babies.

 I haven't posted any pictures in here yet so here's one of cole and emma today....

 Yesterday cole walked right out the sliding glass doors in our living room and went outside by himself. He was probably out there for 5 to 10 minutes before I noticed. I had been upstairs. Thank god he stayed right in the back yard near the swingset. If he hadn't god knows where he would have gone. I'm always terrified he'll go out in the road.  I was very freaked out when I found him out there. I guess I can't leave him alone downstairs for a second now.

Cloth diapers. I'm considering them. But jesus they are expensive. Maybe cloth wipes? I don't know much at this point, just researching.

Anyway I just bought quite possibly the cutest hat I've ever seen for cole, through an etsy seller. The portland Beanie Company. You WILL be amazed at the beautiful stuff they sale. Holy crap I want about 12 more! They sell every size of kids and adults!

I chose this hat for cole...

Are any of these acceptable to wear to cole's baptism? I'm really nervous about it since I'll be in front of everyone. You should know I almost never wear dresses and if I do I prefer black. But I think black on a baptim/easter wouldn't look right. Am I wrong??

So apparently my mom wants to buy a wii. She played one at a friends house and loved it. So any ideas where I can actually find one for $250?

So since I couldn't find Cole a proper baptismal outfit in his size I ordered him a white suit. I don't really want to spend the money ordering him more shoes online as well, so do you think it would look okay if he wore his new blue and white saddle shoes with the white suit?

Now not only am I becoming obsessed with searching etsy.com I also discovered crochet animals. Holy cow, these things are the cutest. Who can make me some??????

How Did I not know about the greatest website in the world? Etsy.com Holy shit I want to buy so much stuff from them, and greatest of all, they take paypal. It's bascially all homemade items from people around the world. I am going to be a frequent costumer, I can tell. I'm going to probably buy cole this custom elephant outfit, and also a crocheted elephant toy. Freaking awesome.

Does anyone else watch Jon & Kate plus 8? I tivo it every week. Cole and I watch it together. He calls the kids "my babies." It's really cute.

Anyone have a good recipe for cheese fondue?

I've never made it before. I've had this cusinart fondue pot since may, and have yet to use it! I'm bringing fondue to our family christmas party.

I forgot to mention Cole pee'd on the potty for the first time monday, and today he pooped on the potty for the first time (peed again too). Both times it was just one of those things were I was changing his diaper and asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty. We have aone of those little potty seats that goes over the toilet. I want to get him a kid size potty for christmas. The one I got him a few months ago I returned because I didn't like it.

Parents magazine had a really cute idea of making a holiday photo wreath. I'm considering making one for ourselves, and possibly for grandparents too, is this a dumb gift?
